Adele Slays 1st Australian Tour with Help of Drag Queen Impersonator

At this point in Adele‘s career, we take her awesomeness for granted. However, Australian fans have had to wait until this week to get to see her live. Adele kicked off her first Australian tour a couple nights ago, and needless to say, it was a success.

Not only is this Adele’s first ever Australian tour, her concert the other night was also the biggest one Perth has ever hosted. The 28-year-old singer ended up entertaining 65,000 fans at Domain Stadium on Tuesday. AND it was her first ever stadium gig.

Naturally, Adele was as charming, talented and foul-mouthed as ever. But one particular moment stuck in fans’ minds in addition to her usual witty banter.

Adele Drag Queen Australia

She looked as stunning as ever.

At some point, the diva spotted someone in the audience who looked oddly familiar. In fact, the person looked like her! It turns out, it was none other than DJ Feminem, a drag queen who impersonates Adele for a living.

“I kind of caught her eye in the first 15 minutes of the show and she gave me a bit of a wink and a wave and I was just having fun,” Feminem said in a radio interview after the show. “And then when she came further and was walking down the catwalk, she circled the stage, she stopped and she said, ‘I want to meet you.’ And security did the rest.”

That’s right, DJ Feminem joined the star onstage. “I impersonate you professionally for a job,” Feminem explained. Adele’s reaction was a hilarious, “Shut up!” She also joked that Feminem looked better than she did as they took some pics together.
