It’s been more than 20 years since Kurt Cobain passed away, but his influence is still going strong. This week, Cobain would have been celebrating his 50th birthday.
The former Nirvana singer was iconic of the 1990s. Not to mention, the band itself were far ahead of their time on inclusivity. It’s no wonder fans are still celebrating his achievements and taking time out of their days to honor the musician.
Frances Bean Cobain, Kurt’s daughter with Courtney Love, led the tributes. The now 24-year-old was just two years old at the time Cobain took his own life.
She posted a touching message on her Instagram account sending her love to her father. “Today would have been your 50th birthday,” she wrote. “You are loved and you are missed. Thank you for giving me the GIFT of life. Forever your daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.”
She also shared an endearing text exchange she had with her grandmother, Wendy Cobain.
