Sometimes a video needs no explanation. But we’ll do you a favor and give a little background on the hilarious event known as “Rally Cat” that happened at the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game last night.
There’s currently a hashtag going around that just reads “#rallycat.” So what’s the story? During the Cardinals game against Kansas City, a cat ran out onto the baseball field. The crowd suddenly went wild as the kitty bolted around the stadium. A staffer managed to catch the little feline, but not without getting bitten a few times in the process.
Despite the distraction, the Cardinals are looking at Rally Cat as a good luck sign. Right after the cat exited the field, St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina hit a grand slam, bringing the Cardinals to an 8-5 victory.
“I’m not a cat person,” said Cardinals manager Mike Matheny. “But I sure like that one.”
