Saturday Night Live Broadcasting Live NATIONWIDE for 1st Time

When it comes to watching Saturday Night Live, well, live, anything west of the Appalachians gets snubbed. But now, as part of a record breaking season, SNL will actually be airing across the U.S. at the same time.

Usually, SNL airs live on the East Coast at 11:30 P.M. The rest of the United States ends up with a taped delay.

This season has had a lot of fun playing with politics.

Things are about to change up, though. This year has been the best season the variety show has had in 20 years. In celebration, the last four episodes will be broadcast live across the U.S. at the same time. This means Californians will have to tune in early–it will be on at 8:30 P.M. on the West Coast.

And there’s even more good news. Melissa McCarthy, whose hilarious Sean Spicer impersonation has taken the internet by storm, is hosting on May 13. Other hosts for the rest of the season include Jimmy Fallon, Chris Pine and Dwayne Johnson.

The live broadcasts will begin on April 15, 2017.
