UFC Champ Conor McGregor Cast in ‘Game of Thrones’ – Who Will He Play?

Though the world of Westeros may be terrifying, it’s basically a dream come true to work in for the lucky actors who get cast in Game of ThronesGame of Thrones is one of the biggest television series of all time, and the cast list has been a who’s who of British talent. Thankfully for Conor McGregor, they also need plenty of fighters in their ranks.

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has just been confirmed to be appearing in season seven of the HBO series that makes everyone who watches it suddenly enticed by bloodlust. UFC president Dana White confirmed the rumors and stated that he’s already shot some scenes.

Speculation over who he would play–and if he has the acting chops to perform well–has already been rampant. His look would make him a perfect member of the Dothraki crowd (maybe Daenerys needs a new suitor?), but his ability to throw punches and look extremely ripped while doing it would also make him a good fit for a Wildling or even a White Walker.

Think Conor McGregor can handle dragons?

A Game of Thrones fan site that stays up to date on the circulating rumors has other ideas. Watchers on the Wall has reported that McGregor may be playing a pirate who is part of Euron Greyjoy’s crew on the ship called Silence. For those worrying if the casting directors are just trying to jump on Conor McGregor’s publicity train despite him not having acting abilities, don’t worry. Watchers on the Wall suggests that it’s just a cameo part with no speaking involved.

Regardless, it wouldn’t be Game of Thrones without some horribly graphic deaths (we’re still cringing over Oberyn Martel’s demise), so maybe Conor McGregor will get a violent end. There’s plenty of options–if he is playing a pirate, he could end up tossed overboard, but that would be boring by Game of Thrones standards.

Last time we saw Euron Greyjoy, he was headed towards Essos, where Daenerys and her dragons are currently located. With any luck, we’ll see Conor McGregor punch a dragon in the mouth only to end up getting devoured.
